Palm Beach County Movie Theatre Increases Security Measures After Warning about “Joker”

“Joker” seems to be one of the most anticipated movies of the season and local movie theaters are increasing security to ensure movie-goers safety.

Following the tragedy in the cinema shooting that killed 12 in 2012 by a man dressed as the Joker in Aurora, CO screening of Batman, officers are attempting to eliminate possible threats.

The Jupiter Police Department added extra security around Cinepolis theatre due to a warning by the U.S. Army of a possibility of a mass shooting at an unspecified theatre.

According to WPTV, the Army is unsure of the credibility of the threat but they will be taking the movie-goers safety very seriously.

Movie chains like AMC and Cobb banned face masks and face painting in their theaters.

IPIC, Landmark Theatres, and Cinepolis banned costumes all together.

Other states across the country have also taken precaution and staged a larger police presence at theater screenings of the movie.

If you plan to see the Joker soon, remember to leave large bags and customs or face masks at home.
