Palm Tran Recognized by United Way for Campaign Efforts

Palm Tran, Palm Beach County’s public transportation system, was recognized by the United Way of Palm Beach County at the 2011-12 annual meeting campaign awards breakfast.

Palm Tran received the award for Most Improved Workplace Campaign, having increased participation by 69 percent and donations by 53 percent, compared with the previous year.

The Outstanding Labor Participation in a Workplace Campaign award was presented to Palm Tran’s Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1577 for its efforts to increase employee participation.

The Top Ten Workplace Campaign award was presented to Palm Beach County in recognition of employees’ contributions and participation.

The annual event took place at the West Palm Beach Marriott. Awards were given to top workplace campaigns, donors, board members and volunteers who all helped to make the United Way’s 2011-12 campaign a success.
