Suspect Arrested After Posting a Palm Beach County School Threat on Snapchat

School safety has been a main concern for the state of Florida following the devastating, local Stoneman Douglas shooting.

This Thursday morning, reports have surfaced from the West Palm Beach Police Department that a young juvenile was arrested just last night.

His arrest was under the premises of a social media threat involving two local schools.

According to WPTV, Sgt. David Lefont from the Palm Beach County School District Police Department and West Palm Beach Police, that threats were made towards Bak and Roosevelt schools on Snapchat.

The suspect was arrested and confessed to the threat, while also stating it was just a hoax.

Police presence has increased in these two schools following the threat in order to ensure school safety.

Lefont emphasizes the importance of keeping an eye on your child’s social media. Online threats should be taken seriously and into account in order to prevent disasters.
