Hurricane Dorian Prolonged the Vacation of Grand Celebration Cruisers

As Hurricane Dorian posed a significant threat to the Bahamas, many South Florida cruisers still carried out with their vacation plans.

Passengers of the Grand Celebration are finally back from their “extended vacation” as Hurricane Dorian turned a two-day trip into almost a week.

The Grand Celebration is a cruise line that leaves from the Port of Palm Beach.

According to WPTV, the cruise set sail on Friday but had to remain at sea near Cuba in order to avoid the storm conditions.

The cruise ship returned to Palm Beach Port on Thursday morning, with 288 passengers.

The ship was made to hold 1,700 passengers but only 288 boarded on Friday due to Dorian.

Passengers stated that the Captain did a great job ensuring the safety of the passengers through navigating them on calm waters.

Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line says that the Grand Celebration ship will be leaving today at 8 p.m. for Freeport in order to send over some supplies. This humanitarian cruise will be filled with food, water, and other supplies. Donations are encouraged and anyone who would like to drop off supplies should do it by 6 p.m. today at the Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line’s Riviera Beach warehouse at 301 Broadway Ave., Bay #7, in Riviera Beach.
