Boca Raton Regional Hospital names volunteer of the month

BOCA RATON, FL – May 20, 2013 – Boca Raton Regional Hospital today announced that Rachel Weiner has been named its Volunteer of the Month. Ms. Weiner joined the Debbie-Rand Memorial Service League (D-RMSL) in March of 1997 and over the years, has worked in the Gift Shop, Food & Nutrition Department, and most recently, as a Nursing Service Assistant on the fifth floor. Volunteering from the end of October through April each year, she has logged over 2,900 hours of service.

 Rachel and her husband, Alvin, moved to Boca Raton as snowbirds 17 years ago from Monroeville, Pennsylvania, where they still live during the summer months. While in Pennsylvania, both Rachel and Alvin volunteer at a local hospital and Rachel also donates her time to the Meals On Wheels Association of America. The Weiners have two children and three grandchildren.

 The Volunteer of the Month award recognizes members of the Debbie-Rand Memorial Service League staff at Boca Raton Regional Hospital who demonstrate outstanding compassion for patients and their families, donate numerous volunteer hours, and perform an exemplary job on a consistent basis.
