Single vehicle crash in Boca Raton kills driver

BOCA RATON– Officers of the Boca Raton Police Services Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit are investigating a fatal crash which occurred on Thursday, August 2, at 1:14 a.m., near the intersection of Verde Trail South and St. Andrews Boulevard.

A 1995 Toyota Corolla operated by Jessie Damaris Diaz, 23, of Deerfield Beach, was traveling north on St. Andrews Boulevard approaching the intersection of Verde Trail South, police said. Just before it reached the intersection, theToyota traveled onto the east grass shoulder where it struck a concrete light pole.

The driver, and only occupant of the Toyota, died at the scene, said police. Anyone with information regarding the crash should contact Traffic Homicide Investigator Chris Somers at (561) 620-6141.
