BOCA RATON – A 20-year-old man was killed at 12:46 a.m. today when his car mounted the sidewalk and struck a traffic light pole, according to a report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office.

The victim was identified as Danyl Dubsky, 20, of 181st Circle South, Boca Raton.

According to PBSO, he was driving a 2005 Chevrolet SUV southbound in the outside lane of State Road 7 approaching Sandalfoot Boulevard. For an unknown reason, the PBSO report says, the vehicle left the roadway and began driving southbound on the sidewalk.

Dubsky then struck the traffic signal pole at the northwest corner of the intersection. The SUV rotated counterclockwise and came to rest on the pole. The driver died as a result of his injuries, the report says.
