Bamboléo Cocina Y Mezcaleria – Now Open!
Authentic Mexican cuisine comes to Boca Raton

Good news, Mexican food fans – Bamboléo Cocina Y Mezcaleria is now open! After months of anticipation, the hip new full-service restaurant & cantina has finally opened shop, taking over the former Flashback Diner space at 1450 North Federal Highway in Boca Raton (just north of Glades Road). Old-timers may remember this spot as the locale of the once-glamorous Bova, and then its predecessor Vivo Partenza.
The menu features a solid offering of authentic Mexican cuisine. Executive Chef Curt Hicken oversees the scratch kitchen, where just about everything is made fresh in-house. Look for traditional Mexican Bocaditas (appetizers) such as Mexican Street Corn and Queso Fundido, as well as a Charcuterie Board and Spanish-inspired Tapas to start. There’s at least seven different kinds of Tacos, the quintessential Mexican street food. For traditional Mexican comfort food, check out the House Specialties, like a real-deal Oaxacan Chicken Mole Negro, Churrasco Skirt Steak, Camarones (shrimp) al Mezcal, and of course, some fantastic Enchiladas. Other offerings include sizzling with Fajitas, Tortas, Quesadillas (7 varieties), Grilled Fresh Fish, and Salads. Don’t forget about the desserts, especially the signature Kahlua Flan.
As the name implies, Bamboléo also features a full bar, showcasing an impressive lineup of high-end tequilas, true artisan mezcals, and creative specialty cocktails (all made with fresh-squeezed juices), along with select beers and wines. Check out the gigantic Copas Grandes (enough for two), or house special creations like the Oaxacan Old Fashioned, Mexican Mule, or the Puerto Escondito, a tantalizing concoction compromising mezcal, fresh lime juice, blue agave, cucumber, and cilantro (a Caribbean cousin of cilantro). And since it stays open until 2:00 a.m., Bamboléo is also a great late-night hangout.
