- Congratulations to Craig Ehrnst and Erin Wright on winning the elections for Boca Raton Beach and Park District after going into a runoff in the November 8 ballot.
- Congratulations to President-Elect Donald Trump on his historic win versus Hillary Clinton.
- The Boca Raton Christian Blazers soccer team is off to a hot start, currently 2-0, the Blazers have outscored their opponents 13-0 in their two matches. The Blazers have a strong team this year as they hope to get their first-ever District title.
- Boca Raton teenager, Rachel Zietz, was named in TIME’s annual “30 Most Influential Teens”list. She’s the founder and CEO of Gladiator Lacrosse, which started two years ago after Zietz found herself frustrated at the quality of lacrosse equipment she could find.
- After initially pushing back the dates a week, crews now will close Spanish River Boulevard at Interstate 95 nightly on four nights, with one still to be determined. The closures — which will be in effect on Spanish River from Broken Sound Boulevard to Airport Road from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11; Monday, Nov. 14; and Wednesday, Nov. 16 — are being done to allow crews to place beams as part of the new I-95 interchange at Spanish River. Another night closure will be announced at a later date.
- Mayor Haynie served as the honorary chair at the Faulk Center for Counseling Community Impact Awards held at Broken Sound Club. This year the award recipients included the Boca Boca Raton Regional Hospital, Attorney Mara Bernstein, Dr. Len Sperry, Florida Atlantic UniversityProfessor, Clinical Mental Health Consulting and four volunteer clinical supervisors at the Faulk Center: Marcy Forster, Richard Reiter, Hovi Shroff and Linda Tepper.
- Congratulations Samy E Dwek and Dr. Bryan Wasserman on being honored at the Israel Bonds Corporate/Doctors Dinner.
- The Microsoft Store has opened its new store at Town Center at Boca Raton. As part of their giving back to the community Microsoft distributed $1 million in technology grants to Florence Fuller Child Development Center; Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, Inc.; the Boca Raton Museum of Art: and The Museum of Discovery and Science.
