Boca Raton resident Jeff Davis is the new Chairman of the Palm Beach International Film Festival and will remake the festival, among other things, leasing the former Plaza Theater in Manalapan as the Festival’s new home, finance the venue’s operations until it gets on its feet, proposing new plans in a few weeks to be presented to the board and bringing in new blood to run it. Former director Randi Emerman has left but her $150,000 back salary still has to be resolved. Palm Beach County Film Commissioner Chuck Elderd attributed the festival’s financial problems to its leadership saying “Maybe they’ve solved the problem….bringing in a businessman chairman to take it apart and put it back together again.”
