Multiple Sclerosis Foundation Galas’ 200 Guests Applaud Honoree Dr. Kantor; The “Beacon of Light” Award Ignites Gala Emotions

Multiple Sclerosis Foundation ( www.msfocus.org ) announced awards to many at the recent Gala held at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66.   Oceans of Hope (http://www.sailing-sclerosis.org ) received a warm welcome and “Beacon of Light” award for their determination and dedication to sail around the globe. This is a moment of history in the making as this is another stop in circumnavigating the world with passengers that have MS. As the video played on the big screens, you couldn’t help the emotion and feeling that you were right there with them on this incredible voyage.

The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation Gala honored Dr. Daniel Kantor for Leadership of Care and Drs. Marietta and Ira Glazer for being the Fearless Volunteers of the Year.  Co-Chairs were Lynne & Ralph McGrath and the evening was emceed by Chanel from Mega 94.9 and 93.9. The band had everyone on the dance floor to some of the popular tunes on the airwaves. With high energy from the Emcee Chanel, the torch was passed at the podium from person to person including Co-Executive Director, Jules Kuperberg & Alan Segaloff as well as Nathalie Sloane, Development Director all from Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Then Virginia Valenze from Novartis.

Earlier in the evening was an extended cocktail hour, that had a full house as people gazed through numerous auction items. The beautiful auction displays were set up ranging from paintings to Botox, from wine baskets to glitzy shoes. The crew from Oceans of Hope gathered with their glasses of champagne and enjoyed land for the evening.

The evening was a wonderful success for all in creating awareness for MS and honoring those who put countless hours of work into this mission.
