A New $39 Million Budget for The Boca Raton Beach and Park District and What it Could Mean

Boca Raton resident’s have recently been actively attending meetings to ensure there will not be an imposed millage tax increase.

A lot of speculation has stemmed from the issue, but a recent meeting on Tuesday has provided many with some relief.

The Boca Raton Beach and Park District approved a $39 million budget without a large millage tax increase, with a four to one vote approving less than a 1 percent increase adjusting for inflation.

According to WPTV, the newly expanded budget will go towards funding projects for locations such as Gumbo Limbo and other parks and beaches.

However, residents should be wary on getting their hopes up too soon as a future hike may be inevitable with increasing innovation.

Commissioners are also still in the process of evaluating the budget for the National Golf Course in Boca Raton.
