Students United Network (S.U.N.) Invites Local friends and Family to UNITY IN THE COMMUNITY PICNIC

Saturday, August 10, in Coral Springs

Food Trucks, DJ, Games, Face Painting, Arts & Crafts

Boca Raton, FL – The Students United Network, otherwise known as S.U.N., is a volunteer organization consisting of a group of students and adults from the Coral Springs and Parkland area high schools. S.U.N. originated as a series of roundtable meetings with Mayor Scott Brook where the youth of the community sought to find ways to make a difference, but the group has evolved into a network that works to increase youth involvement in the community, promote interconnectedness, and serve others.

To pursue and advance these goals, the Students United Network is hosting the Unity in the Community Picnic.

The event is taking place on Saturday, August 10, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 2575 Sportsplex Drive. The event will feature food trucks, DJ, games, face painting, and arts & crafts for the whole family. S.U.N. invites all to come out to this family-friendly event, and have some fun in the sun. Attendees are urged to bring blankets and/or chairs, shade, sports balls, and school supplies to donate to the school supply drive.

The Students United Network has partnered with local businesses to raise money to host the event. National Transaction Corporation, the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, andMunsie Enterprises Inc. are just a few of the major sponsors for this event, and additional supporters are welcome. To become a sponsor, please contact Steven Munsie at 754.234.8003.

All proceeds from the Unity in the Community Picnic will go to the Keeping Dreams Alive Foundation, which educates and empowers students on their journey into furthering their education and career, and to the Friendship Journey, a non-profit organization that builds the bonds and life sharing between all differently-abled people through fun and enriching activities. Both of these great organizations can always use the public’s involvement, so come out to the picnic to learn more.
