Hobby Lobby Coming To Boca Raton

HobbyLobbyStowOhioHobby Lobby Stores, a privately held national retail chain of crafts and home decor stores, is pleased to announce it has signed a lease to open a store in Boca Raton, FL. Construction and renovation is set to begin soon on this 52,000 square-foot building, formerly occupied by Bealls, located at 21759 State Road 7 in West Boca Square.

Hobby Lobby currently has 26 stores in Florida. The Boca Raton store is projected to open later in 2014, bringing about 35 to 50 jobs to the community paying $15 per hour for full time and $10 per hour for part-time associates.

“Boca Raton, and its surrounding area, has many vibrant crafting communities that we look forward to serving. We are very pleased to become an integral part of yet another community by providing new jobs, exceptional selection and value in the craft and home decor market, and revitalizing an empty facility, all of which enables us to share in the economic growth of both the state and the community,” stated John Schumacher, Assistant Vice President of Advertising.

Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., headquartered in Oklahoma City, OK, began as Greco, a miniature picture frames company in 1970. When David Green moved his business from the family’s garage to a 300 square foot retail space in 1972, Hobby Lobby was founded. Today, Hobby Lobby has nearly 600 stores across the nation that average 55,000 square feet in size. This major Oklahoma City-based private corporation offers more than 70,000 crafting and home decor products in its stores in departments including Crafts, Wearable Art, Home Accents, Frames, Jewelry, Hobby, Papercrafting & Scrapbooking, Fabric, Art Supply, Seasonal, Party Supply, Floral and Needle Art. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. All Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sunday.
