Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton Presented Two Top Awards at the 2019 Rotary District 6930 Annual Conference

With more than 300 Rotarians attending from the District 6930 serving East Central Florida from Boca Raton to Titusville, the Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton (RCDTBR) was presented two top honors: the District’s “Club of the Year” and “Governor’s Citation Award”.  Rotary International District Governor Julia Rose Babbitt presented the awards at the 2019 District Conference held at Marriott World Center in Orlando, Florida to RCDBR club members Michael F. Walstrom, Terri Wescott, Jon Kaye, Frank Feiler, Bob Hildreth, Alan Konis, Dr. Ron Rubin, Robert Stein, Dr. Akram Girgis.

 

Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton has been recognized as the District 6930 “Club of the Year” for two consecutive years: 2018-2019 and 2017-2018. The Governor’s Award, the District’s most prestigious award, is determined by demonstrating the exemplary implementation of a set of deliverables, accomplishments and achievements.

“We are honored to receive this recognition by District Governor Julia Babbitt”, said Michael F. Walstrom, president of the Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton. “I am so proud of all our members accomplishments this year. They truly are inspiring leaders serving our community.”

 

Founded in July 2012, The Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton has been named District 6930 ‘Club of the Year’ three times. They are dedicated to impacting the Boca Raton community through Rotary International’s mission of “Service Above Self”. With vision, focus, and action they make a difference by focusing on health and wellness initiatives. Club activities also promote leadership, integrity, camaraderie and trust. Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton produces two major annual fundraising events: The Boca Raton Mayors Ball benefiting health and wellness needs of Boca Raton-based community non-profits, and the Honor Your Doctor Luncheon raising funds for healthcare-related scholarships at Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, Palm Beach State College and Lynn University.
