Rabbi New with a member of the Friedus
family who gave a huge donation for the center to be built
I attended the dedication of the new East Boca Raton Chabad and My Israel Center to be built at 770 E Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton. The land, the former site of one of my favorite restaurants, La Vielle Maison, was donated by Irwin and Judy Litwak in memory of the Litwak family whom the Chabad will be named for, Harry and Celia Litwak Chabad Center. Rabbi Ruvi New will head up the new Chabad and he had a vision that one day 770 E Palmetto Park Rd. would be the site of the Chabad as 770 Eastern Pkwy in Brooklyn, New York is the Chabad Headquarters. There were several dignitaries in the huge crowd including, Consul General of Israel, of Miami, Chaim Shacham, and many others. Rabbi New introduuced the architect Derek Vander Ploeg who designed the building as well as a member of the Freidus family who gave a huge donation for the center to be built.
