Breaking: Shooting in Unincorporated Boca Raton

Palm Beach County detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred in Unincorporated Boca Raton this evening.

According to PBSO, the victim was returning to his home at Boca Fontana (9000 block of Majorca Place, Boca Raton) from work when he was approached by unknown suspects. In an attempt to protect himself, he armed himself with a handgun. During the course of the attempted robbery the victim discharged his firearm. Gunfire accidently struck a nearby neighbor. The neighbor is being air lifted to a local hospital for treatment. Condition is unknown.

Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are in route to the scene to investigate further.
