BOCA RATON — NCCI Holdings, the Boca Raton-based company that collects and analyzes workers compensation data—has been awarded a 2010 Communitas Award for leadership in community service and corporate social responsibility.

Communitas is a Latin word meaning “people coming together for the good of the community.” The awards program seeks to inspire a better world by recognizing volunteerism, investment and ethical, sustainable business practices.

The company was recognized for helping the community through sponsorships, scholarships, in-kind services, donated equipment, matching employee contributions, and paid time off for employee volunteers.

Among the charities NCCI supported in 2010 were the United Way, March of Dimes, American Cancer Society and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches.

The award also acknowledged NCCI’s corporate social responsibility and overall corporate practices. Its green initiative was also cited.
