Tropical Storm Dorian is Powering Toward Caribbean

Previous mention of tropical storm Dorian painted an unsure image however recently, Dorian has continued to strengthen and develop.

As of last night, August 25, tropical storm Dorian has strengthened by 10 mph as we approach a rainy Monday morning.

Sun Sentinel presents the observation of Dorian being on a possible path towards Florida. However, it is still way too early in the development of the storm to gauge the actual impact it may present to the state of Florida.

We may find out more on the storms route after it crosses over Hispaniola, consisting of the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

Senior Hurricane Specialist, Stacy Stewart, told Sun Sentinel that the rugged terrain of Hispaniola could result in a weaker storm.

As of 8 a.m. Monday morning, the hurricane center has identified Dorian’s center at 205 miles east-southeast of Barbados and 1,800 miles from South Florida, moving West at 14 mph.

This coming Tuesday, Dorian is predicted to be at or near hurricane status, moving west into the Caribbean Sea.
