Boca Raton-based Golf Challenge Benefits Local Charity

BOCA RATON, Fla. (November 21, 2016) – On a beautiful Sunday in October, members from Boca Woods Country Club teamed up with athletes from Lynn University’s Women’s Golf Team to hit the fairways in support of Hospice by the Sea Foundation and Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation.

More than 100 players competed on Oct. 23, as golfers exuberantly played the 18-hole challenge for a good cause. For the last several years, Lynn University’s Women’s Golf Team has united with members of Boca Woods Country Club to give back to the local community.

After the tournament, the golfers relaxed and enjoyed a post-round BBQ. The event raised more than $4,000 for hospice services which will benefit specialized patient care programs that go far beyond what is reimbursed by Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance. These services include charitable care, bereavement services, music therapy, and palliative treatments for comfort.

The co-chairs for this event were Linda Fontana, Linda Jaspan, Eileen Roman, and Dawn Strenk from Boca Woods Country Club.
