Planning and Zoning Board to Consider Proposal on Wildflower Property

wildflower pic 2When it’s all said and done the Wildflower property, which has been the source of much talk amongst residents and city officials, could essentially become a park after all.

After much back and forth between residents and city officials on if the prized piece of land off the intercostal would become a restaurant or a park, a group of residents was able to gather enough signatures to put up a public vote.

As proposed by the residents, all city-owned land adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway would only be used for public recreation, public boating access, public streets and city stormwater uses.

And so, the city’s planning and zoning board will consider the proposal Thursday in the board’s public meeting which is set for 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, located at 201 W. Palmetto Park Road.

The City Council is also expected to introduce the proposal during their 6 p.m. meeting Tuesday.
