Best College Reviews ranks FAU as one of the Best Colleges by the Sea

BestCollegeReviews.org has named Florida Atlantic University number five in their “50 Best Colleges By The Sea” list.

“When one is considering where to pursue higher education, the environment is a huge factor,” says the author of the list. “College is much more than classes and degrees.”

Best College Reviews judged each school on its proximity to a beach (50%), marine educational centers, degrees and research facilities (30%), along with recreational opportunities by the sea (20%).

The City of Boca Raton boasts a two-mile stretch of lifeguard-protected beaches, which are isolated, serene, and provides recreational use to thousands.

The City has three Parks – Spanish River, Red Reef, and South Beach – and have miles of beaches on each side.

The beaches and its parks are less than five miles from Florida Atlantic.

Furthermore, Florida Atlantic is the only University in the Nation that has a football stadium in which you can see the Atlantic Ocean from.

Only four other universities beat out Florida Atlantic for the number one spot: The liberal arts college in the Florida Gulf Coast, Eckerd College was ranked fourth, the University of California – San Diego was in the third spot, University of California – Santa Barbara came in at number two, and Texas A & M – Corpus Christi took the top honors.
