Boca Raton Fine Art Show – Jan 24 & 25 – Announces Professional Artist Award Winners

BRFAS_2015_003The 6th bi-annual Boca Raton Fine Art Show held on January 24 & 25, 2015 in downtown Boca is a fine art and fine craft fair. Juried by art professionals, the jurors for the Boca Raton Fine Art Show™ brought a combined experience of more than 140 years in art education and/or art fair experience to this event. All artwork was original and personally handmade by the artist who participated in the show. All forms of discipline were showcased and for sale including paintings, sculpture, clay, glass, wood, fiber, jewelry, photography, and more.

Sponsored by Hot Works, LLC, a professionally produced fine art fair by a show director with a national standing and reputation, and the Institute for the Arts & Education, Inc., the associated 501c3 non-profit organization that focuses on visual arts, diversity, fostering art education among young students, and community enrichment, there was $1,500 inProfessional Artist Awards. Criteria for judging were based on technique/execution, originality, and booth appearance.

Industry advocate Les Slesnick of Orlando, Florida was the Artist Juror. Mr. Slesnick is an artist himself, and has tremendous experience with juried art fairs and artists; he has more than 30 years of experience with participating in art shows, plus another 10 years with consulting and jurying art fairs across the country. Mr. Slesnick is an award-winning artist from the top juried fine art shows in the country. Mr. Greg Anderson, a Boca Raton resident, volunteered as Mr. Slesnick’s assistant on Saturday, January 24.

Following the selection of awards, a “Prize Patrol” team visited each winning artist at his/her booth, and delivered a colorful, beautiful 2’ ribbon that each winning artist displayed the duration of the show for art fair visitors to see. The “Prize Patrol” was honored this year to have several City officials as our special guests, and who also personally congratulated each winning artist. The list of dignitaries was headed by Mayor Susan Haynie and Council Members Robert Weinroth and Scott Singer;the team also included Boca Raton resident, artist, and architect Greg Anderson, along with Executive Director of the Boca Raton Fine Art Show™, Patty Narozny. It was very positive exposure for the community and for the artists.
