Tropical Storm Lorenzo Becomes the Third Currently Active Storm

As hurricane season in Florida continues to progress, we are currently keeping an eye on three tropical storms that have recently formed.

Officials continue to monitor tropical storm Karen and Jerry continue along their paths but as of this morning, Tropical Depression 13 has been named Tropical Storm Lorenzo.

The third tropical system is forecast to form into a hurricane by Wednesday, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Lorenzo was located closest to Africa at 11 a.m. this morning. The system is moving at a max of 40 mph and west at 18 mph.

With tropical storms and hurricanes, it is difficult to be sure on the systems path so early on.

Although it is still unsure whether or not Florida will be impacted by Lorenzo, it is forecasted to continue moving west to west-northwest.

According to Sun Sentinel, Lorenzo is predicted to become a Category 2 storm at 110 mph, by the end of this week.
