Due to Hurricane Dorian, surrounding Florida counties saw various school closures in order to ensure student safety.
As Dorian moves away from Florida, the following is a list from WPTV of local Palm Beach County schools that have announced their reopening:
- Boca Raton Christian School resumes classes on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
- Spanish River Christian School will resume Thursday, Sept. 5
- Atlantic Christian Academy in West Palm Beach will open on Thursday, September 5.
- FAU and PBSC classes will resume Thursday, Sept. 5.
The following are announcements of school closings that have yet to ensure a resuming date:
- American Heritage in Delray (all grades) closed on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
- All Lynn University classes and activities are canceled for Tuesday, Sept. 3.
- Berean Christian School in West Palm Beach will be closed on Tuesday, September 3rd and Wednesday, Sept. 4.
- Planet Kids at Wellington will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 3.
- Wellington Preparatory School will be closed on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
- Unity School in Delray Beach will be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
