The Bobcats of Boca Raton High have big visions for this upcoming season. The Bobcats, led by coach Marcelo Castillo, do not only have hopes for a district title, but also have hopes for a state title. Even though it is early, the Bobcats are arguably the hottest team from Boca, and Palm Beach County.

The Bobcats will face a tough opponent Wednesday night playing Park Vista. It is a key game for both teams looking to start off week 2 on the right foot. For the Bobcats, they look to stay undefeated. After rallying to tie against Suncoast in the second half, Boca Raton is riding a two game winning streak into Wednesday night. As for Park Vista, they look to dethrone Boca this year as the Bobcats go for a 13th consecutive district title. Park Vista has never beaten Boca and are coming off of a tough 3-2 loss to Palm Beach Central.

The Bobcats look to be one of the most competitive teams in the state of Florida, and it showed when I visited their practice Tuesday morning. There was no school due to the holiday, but it did not disrupt the flow for Coach Castillo’s team. Leaders like Lucas DeCarvalho, a senior who has been part of Castillo’s program for four years now, brings the team intensity to a whole new level. This Bobcats team looks focused and ready for any challenge that comes their way. Their practices were high intensity and constant conditioning. District 11-5A will not be an easy district to win. Royal Palm, Spanish River, Park Vista, Suncoast, and Palm Beach Central all look to be contenders early. Park Vista will definitely have upset on their mind Wednesday night, looking for their first district win.

The Boca Raton High Bobcats have big visions for this season. The Bobcats (2-0-1) will face off against Park Vista (1-1-0) at Bobcats Stadium Wednesday November 12th at 6pm. It will be the first true test for the Bobcats as they look for their first district win of the season.
