Boca Raton Police charge serial ATM thief

Boca Raton, FL – After a lengthy investigation, Boca Raton Police Services Department investigators charged a suspect in connection with dozens of fraudulent ATM withdrawals.  Beginning in January, Foaud Dahdah conducted 29 fraudulent withdrawals from ATMs in the City of Boca Raton alone.  He’s suspected in numerous transactions in other jurisdictions using the same method and technique.

Investigators determined, from multiple surveillance videos, that Dahdah was the same person responsible for the thefts due to the fact that he wore similar clothing each time he committed a crime.  In each instance, he wore a dark blue baseball cap, a dark blue shirt, black pants and white sneakers.  The break in the case came on July 2nd when the store manager of a Publix in Boynton Beach received a call from someone in Texas claiming his credit card had been used illegally at that store.  Deputies from PBSO pulled surveillance video to investigate.  As he was leaving the store that night, the manager stopped to use the ATM and recognized the suspect standing in front of him using the ATM.  He was able to get the tag of the vehicle being driven by Dahdah.

On Wednesday, July 17th, members of the Boca Raton Tactical Team were able to observe Dahdah, driving the same vehicle and wearing the same clothes, make multiple transactions at an ATM in suburban Boca Raton.  Deputies from PBSO arrested Dahdah and found him in possession of several fraudulent debit cards and several hundred dollars. As a result, Boca Raton detectives charged Dahdah with 15 counts of Using Counterfeit Credit Cards, 13 counts of Grand Theft, 15 counts of Organized Fraud and 13 counts of Identity Theft.  It’s believed Dahdah is responsible for more of these crimes.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Karl Leonard at 561-338-1324.
