BOCA RATON — Office Depot, Inc. announced that the company has finalized an agreement with the U.S. Army Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) Program. The unique program will provide Office Depot with a source of highly qualified applicants for potential employment following their service in the military. It also serves as an additional recruiting incentive that increases the Army’s ability to man the force.
To commemorate the partnership, Office Depot held a ceremonial signing at its global headquarters in Boca Raton.
“We’re very excited about our alliance with the U.S. Army PaYS Program,” said Robyn Tyler, vice president of Global Talent Management for Office Depot. “This program will provide us with a steady stream of great candidates who are motivated, experienced, and qualified, and can be placed in a variety of positions at Office Depot, whether in our headquarters, stores, or in the field.”
The U.S. Army PaYS Program, which began in 2000, guarantees a soldier an interview with a PaYS partner employer once he or she decides to re-enter the civilian workforce.
The Army is confident that the soldier will be an asset to any company or organization since the tangible and intangible traits of the Army soldier are desirable attributes that are heavily sought after.

Melgarejo, Jr. “Office Depot has a need for certain skills that our soldiers can provide, such as integrity, loyalty, and dedication; and for soldiers transitioning out of the Army, they get to go right into another great organization where they can add value.”
