FAU Presents the United States Air Force Concert Band

and Singing Sergeants

Boca Raton, FL – Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters Department of Music presents the United States Air Force Concert Band and the Singing Sergeants in a free concert on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium at the University Center, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. To reserve your free ticket, visit www.fauevents.com or call 561-297-6124.

“We are very lucky to be able to host such a prestigious organization,” said Kyle Prescott, director of University Bands. “This is the band that has appeared before every chief executive of the United States since President Truman.”

The United States Air Force Concert Band is the premier symphonic wind ensemble of the U.S. Air Force and is based in Washington, D.C. Together with the Singing Sergeants, the official chorus of the U.S. Air Force, these groups represent the U.S. Air Force and our country as part of The United States Air Force Band.

Both groups frequently perform for national television broadcasts and online videos, including annual holiday flash mobs, which have been viewed by millions worldwide. The concert band and Singing Sergeants present classic and new wind ensemble repertoire, stellar instrumental and vocal soloists, medleys of opera classics and Broadway favorites, and moving patriotic tributes to our heroic veterans.
