Animal Aid opened its doors in 1999 and now rescues and finds homes for an average of 120 cats and dogs each month that would otherwise be destroyed.  In addition, its low cost spay/neuter clinic provides 300 surgeries per month. “The tragic reality is that millions of animals are put down in shelters throughout the U.S. each year,” says Animal Aid founder and president, Tamera DeMello. “The key to ending this, is free and affordable spay/neuter programs along with public education. We rescue injured, neglected or unwanted cats and dogs from county shelters, provide veterinary care and help them through recovery so we can then find them forever homes.” Animal Aid is supported completely by donations.
