Message from the CEO – Moving Business Forward

Good Afternoon Valued Chamber Member,

We are getting closer to hopping on the Brightline Train Station in Boca Raton! Yesterday, Jackie Reeves, the Chair of the Boca Chamber Board of Directors, and I attended the Topping Off Ceremony of the station. A topping-off ceremony traditionally signifies the near completion of a construction project where the “last beam” is placed on top of the structure. Chair Reeves and I both signed the beam with our best wishes for what we know will be a game-changing asset to our community! The station is scheduled for completion by the end of the year. Get ready to get All Aboard Brightline!

The Golden Bell Education Foundation’s Annual Fundraiser, Battle of The Bands Rocked by Truist in partnership with the School of Rock, is just five weeks away! 20 non-musician business professionals have been working hard all summer to learn their instruments and practice their song for their final performance. The concert is on September 24 and will be held at Lynn University. For complete event details and to support the Rock Stars, please, click here. This event will sell out so get your tickets early! The proceeds will help Golden Bell continue to support thousands of students in our public schools. Rock ‘n Roll and education – a perfect match!

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced the establishment of two new federal advisory committees – the Invention, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Advisory Committee (IIEAC) and the Investment Capital Advisory Committee (ICAC). The two committees were created to accelerate support for startups driving critical innovation across the United States and increase small business access to capital. They intend to help gain valuable insight into how the SBA can improve programs and policies to strengthen the innovation ecosystem across the nation and accelerate the flow of private and public capital to innovative startups and small businesses. The SBA’s top priority is to provide small businesses and innovative startups with access to critical patient capital and R&D funds to advance innovation and support small companies. The SBA is seeking nominations to serve on either of the committees from members of the public. For information on nomination requirements, please click here.

Erica will help to keep the Palm Beach County School District moving forward.
