These 4 Celebs Lost Their Lives in Car Accidents

Every day you get in your car to make the trek from home to work. You spend a great deal of your life inside your car, yet you put your life in jeopardy every time you get behind the wheel. Every year, about 1.3 million people across the world meet their demise from a wreck, and this includes celebrities.

You may think that being a member of the Hollywood elite means you will be safely ushered around town by limousine.  Unfortunately, many famous stars have died as a result of a crash, and that includes those who had drivers. Here are some of the most recognized celebrities who passed on life’s highways.

Princess Diana

Diana, Princess of Wales, was known as “The People’s Princess” because everyone loved her so much. However, when things went south in her marriage to Prince Charles, Diana began dating another man named Dodi Fayed. The paparazzi were eager to get photos of the princess and her lover, and they engaged in a high-speed chase with the driver, Henri Paul.

The Mercedes-Benz W140 was no match for the high speeds and curves in the road. The driver, princess, and Fayed were all pronounced dead at the scene. One person, Trevor Rees, who was Fayed’s bodyguard, survived. The couple was out on the town in Paris, France at the time of the wreck.

Since then, August 31, 1997,  is a day that will forever be remembered for the tragedy that occurred. Princess Diana was only 36 years old at the time of her death.

Grace Kelly

The Princess of Monaco and her daughter were driving around Monaco when she suffered a stroke. The stroke caused her to lose control of the vehicle and crash. She was rushed to the hospital in serious condition, where she was put on life support. Sadly, her brain was severely injured, and her husband, Prince Rainier III, had to make the heart-wrenching choice to pull her off life support. On Sep 14, 1982, she passed.

Lisa Lopes AKA “Left Eye”

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, TLC was a popular girl band with several hit songs. “Left Eye” was Lisa Lopes’s group name, and she enjoyed her popularity. One of their biggest hits was the song “Waterfalls,” which sold more than 11.8 million copies in the US alone.

Lopes had several mental issues, and she was arrested when she burned down her boyfriend Ande Rison’s mansion. While on vacation in Honduras, she was driving on the small roads and going too fast. She tried to avoid hitting the truck and oversteered the car. The result was the automobile flipping numerous times and causing her to sustain deadly injuries. The others in the car were unscathed.

Paul Walker

It is ironic that Paul Walker would die in a car crash, since he is known for his stunt driving abilities in the Fast and Furious movies. On November 30, 2013, Walker went for a ride with his friend, Roger Rodas. The driver was going around 80-90 miles per hour when he lost control of the car.

The road they were traveling on had a speed limit of 45 miles per hour, and the vehicle, a Porsche Carrera, wasn’t made to maintain the speed it was driven. Paul Walker died from burns from the fire and the impact of the crash.

Dealing with Vehicle Accidents

There is one way celebrities are just like the rest of us, and that is the fact that when they are injured in a car accident that was caused by someone else’s mistake they are likely to file a legal claim with the help of professionals like the Houston Accident Lawyer. Whether you’re wealthy and famous or not, there is no reason you should be stuck paying the bills for a wreck you didn’t cause.

According to personal injury attorneys Bader Scott (you can click here for info about practice areas for Bader Scott), if you’ve been in an accident or lost a loved one due to someone else’s negligence, you have the right to seek the full value of the total damages that are related to the wreck in a court of law.
