IPL is Paving the Way for Hair Removal Treatments

A lot of us have some hair that we would rather not have there. And we go to great lengths to make it go away.

These methods have included shaving, waxing, sometimes a hair removal cream. But if you’ve tried any of these options, you know that they each come with their own challenges. Waxing salons will ensure that their waxing services do not damage your hair follicles the way shaving does.

We also would like to introduce another option to the scene: IPL hair removal.

IPL: Intense Pulsed Light

IPL stands for intense pulsed light. And that’s exactly what it is.

IPL is administered through a mechanical device to treat the presence of unwanted hair anywhere on the body.

It can be done at a special spa with a technician or it can be done using a handset at home.

How Does it Work?

How does light get rid of hair?

IPL laser hair removal works using extremely bright flashes of light over patches of skin. This light penetrates deep into the hair follicle.

This light zaps the pigment out of the individual hairs. This causes them to become “frazzled” then gradually fall off.

To use it, you do need to shave the area first. It works best when it can shoot directly into the follicle.

Lasting Results

The process takes a few different treatments to get your skin to the degree of hairlessness you desire. Then, all it takes is a few treatments every month or so.

Since it fries the pigment at the root of the hair, it takes longer for it to grow back. Over time, the damage done to the hair follicle causes the hair to become thinner and weaker.

Though most people do need to keep up with treatments around every month, some people do report the hair never coming back.

As with everything, results vary from person to person, but they sure are promising.

Different Settings

Everyone’s hair and skin are different. So shouldn’t your hair removal technique serve you where you’re at?

IPL devices are able to be adjusted based on your skin sensitivity and hair thickness. So you can start at a lower level to try out how it feels, then work your way up in intensity from there.

Gentle on Sensitive Skin

A huge concern for anyone is how painful it can be. IPL isn’t exactly comfy, but it can be much gentler on sensitive skin than traditional laser hair removal. If you wish to opt with your hair removal concerns, you can check out Waxing Vancouver and see what services they might offer for you.

Easy to Do at Home

The best thing about IPL is that it gives you the option of doing a hair removal treatment right at home.

There are many spas that offer IPL treatments, so if that’s more your speed, you do have that option there.

If you don’t have the time to make appointments regularly and make the trek out to a specialty spa, you don’t have to.

With easy-to-follow instructions and a lightweight device, you can get the hairless legs or arms you desire from your own bathroom in 10-15 minutes.

Can be Used All Over the Body

Yes, we do mean all over.

IPL hair removal treatments can be done on any square inch of your body where you have unwanted hair.

That means your legs and armpits, but also your face and yes, down there as well.

Cutting-Edge Technology

As technology advances, there’s no limit to what new and exciting devices are out there. IPL hair removal is an exciting new and effective way to get rid of unwanted hair fast and easy.
