Change up Your Wardrobe with Men’s Athleisure

Whether you are a university student or a professional, at one point or another, you are bound to change up your wardrobe to keep up with the trends. Fashion, as much as you want to disagree, does hold a significant value in the way you are perceived. It contributes to not only your personal style but also to the way society receives you and interprets you.

Fashion has taken multiple turns over the years and decades and is now at a point where men’s athleisure is all the rave. For a long time, different forms of clothing had different purposes. Pointy dress shoes and a suit for corporate affairs, men’s designer quarter zip sweaters for casual events, flashy sequin jackets for entertainment, and sweatpants and joggers for the gym. But this is not the case anymore.

What Is Mens Athleisure?

If different clothes for different purposes are not the case anymore, then how will people decide what to wear and what to look good in. Well, these days it’s all about mixing and matching. So, people have started combining streetwear and athletic wear to create something called athleisure.

Athleisure essentially is a combination of two different words, athletic and leisure. This means athletic clothes are now made to fit you in a way that is supposed to create a leisure experience. In that, you will be not only comfortable but also look fashionable. This form of clothing is almost multi-purpose wear where you can pretty much do anything in them.

Men’s Athleisure often includes sweatpants, jackets, basic T-shirts, and joggers. A combination of sweatpants and any other element of clothing has also become acceptable. So, for example, if you wear sweatpants with a formal sweater or a blazer, you are bound to look fabulous. This is true for any permutation of athletic wear you want to combine with formal wear.

Will I Have To Change My Entire Wardrobe?

Perhaps the most interesting and useful aspect of athleisure is that it can be interpreted in a sustainable way. Most people already have sweatpants that they wear to sleep or basics that they wear to the gym. All that you need to do is to combine these clothing items with other forms of fashion.

So, if you are going out, you can start buying some thick and fancy kinds of sweatpants that are not super thin in material. You should also keep a lookout for sweats that can be interpreted as monotone or can create an aesthetic. Pair these sweats with oversized custom hoodies or sweatshirts, and you will be good to go. You may also buy vintage hoodies and pair it with your sweats.

This means you will not have to change your entire wardrobe. Maybe add a few new pieces to your existing collection. It is sustainable in the sense that many people borrow sweatpants and sweatshirts from their parents so as to add the vintage element to their style. This is also something that is trending alongside athleisure.

Essentially, athleisure is supposed to provide you with comfort and a sense of aesthetic, all the while being fashion-forward in society. Thus, it has become this postmodern way to reinterpret fashion and what it stands for. Athleisure is also trending because people save up a lot of money and time since it doesn’t cost a lot and it is not too complicated to put on.

Conclusion

In a manner of saying, you can argue that athleisure is only popular because of big-name celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Jaden Smith, but it is also true that this form of fashion does serve a purpose. So, if you want to join the ever-growing trend and make a mark on the changing society, then maybe experiment with athleisure and change up your wardrobe.
