Boca Raton Police Chief Officially Retiring

Police Chief of Boca Raton, Dan Alexander, has announced his retirement after 13 years of leading the Department.

Chief Alexander will be retiring to take a position in the Palm Beach County School District Police Department.

Chief Alexander began his position in the Boca Raton Department back in July of 2006. He was an assistant police chief and captain of the Boca Police Department from the years of 1999 to 2002.

He emphasizes the idea of entering an “already great agency”. According to WPTV, Chief Alexander stated, “I realized, my role as stewardship and to make sure that we made sure to improve what was already a great department”.

The chief is proud of the low crime rate in Boca Raton, down 26 percent over the last 13 years.

Chief Alexander’s last day at the Boca Raton Police Department will be on December 1.
