Florida Gas Prices Could Be Increasing Due to Attack on Saudi Arabian Oil Facilities

The recent issues in the Middle East have been pretty prominent among local news media coverage.

It has recently become known that following the drone attack on Saudi Arabian oil fields, the U.S. could experience a spike in the global oil prices.

According to Sun Sentinel, the United States is blaming the attack on Iran, knocking out two large Saudi processing plants and half the kingdom’s oil capacity.

AAA’s weekly Gas Price Update demonstrated about a 17 cents increase per gallon. Whereas on Monday, Florida gas prices were 16 cents lower than the national average at $2.40 a gallon.

Chris Midgley, global head of analytics for S&P Global Platts, told Sun Sentinel that he does not believe the price surge will hold a prolonged disruption.
