Cocaine Washes Up On Florida Shore Due to Hurricane Dorian

Hurricane Dorian wreaked havoc along the coast of Florida, bringing along some unusual items.

A beachgoer was reported to have found a suspicious package that had washed up along the shore of Paradise Beach Park in Melbourne on Tuesday, September 2nd.

The police later identified this package as containing cocaine.

According to Sun Sentinel, the police reported the package to have had the Spanish word for “diamond” written on it. Melbourne officers also confirm that the package was wrapped in a way that is consistent with a kilo of illegal drugs.

Following this, another beachgoer discovered a red duffle bag containing 15 bricks of cocaine that had washed up on the shore of Cocoa Beach.

According to Sergeant Manny Hernandez, the duffle was found on Friday afternoon in the area of South Sixth Street.

The drugs have been taken into custody and officers are currently continuing the investigation.
