Enormous 18-foot Python Caught in Florida

Florida has to deal with a great deal of invasive species, such as the Burmese python, posing a threat to other wildlife and it is important that they are properly dealt with.

A shocking photo of 17’9″ Burmese python recently surfaced by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

According to WPTV, the python was captured by a member of the Python Action Team, Kevin Reich.

This particular Burmese python is said to be the second largest the team has ever captured and removed.

Although the location of the python has not been announced, Burmese pythons are primarily seen in and around the Everglades area.

The FWC is urging citizens to join the Python Action Team to help control these invasive species. They have encouraged hunters, anglers, and anyone with experience to apply to this python removing position.

Governor Ron DeSantis has stated that he would like to double the resources for python removal in Florida.
