Kerfootˈs playmaking skills appreciated by Tyson Barrie

Good news from NHL skate league…According to the press release, Colorado Avalanche traded Tyson Barrie and Alexander Kerfoot with Toronto Maple Leafs. As part of the deal, Colorado Avalanche got Nazem Kadri and Calle Rosen. Barrie will play together with Alexander Kerfoot in Toronto based team.

On this occasion, Kerfoot said:

Berrie is a Harvard grad, great kid, smart kid, and he’s a tremendous playmaker. Good skater. I think you guys are really going to love him. I was really happy to see him come with me. He’s going to be a good player in this league for a lot of years.“

“He’s got some of the best vision I’ve ever played with, so he’s a sneaky player.”

Contract details

Kerfoot has just signed the contract worth $14 million. It means that Kerfoot will have an annual salary of $3,5 million which is a million less than Kadri used to have as part of the team. Kerfoot aims to reach about 20 goals per season which is not great plan compared to Kadris 32-goals record over several previous seasons.

With 56% faceoff success rate per season, Kerfoot belongs to the group of players who had at least 400 draws in this 2018/19 season. It means that Kerfoot is ahead of Kadri who has a slightly worse result of 55,2%. Kerfoot is currently on 12th position in the league.

About Barrie:

Maple Leafs can only be happy with Barrieˈs presence. Over the past five seasons, Barrie marked 256 points in 378 games which is obviously better than Morgan Riellyˈs result who had 216 points in 397 games over the same period.

Commenting on the trade, Barrie said that he was spending some celebration time with sister and friends when he got a call from Toronto club. He can’t wait for upcoming “pure excitement” in the next season.

More about teams:

Avalanche and Maple Leafs met in 2018/19 two times with 1/1 most recent score. Future matches will be more than exciting!

Barrie has just spoken about Maple Leafs at the same period:

“They’re so dangerous. I think they’ve got good goaltending and they’ve got superstars up front who can put the puck in the net at any time and make you pay if you’re not paying attention. That game in Toronto I got burned once or twice by a couple of guys, so it’s an exciting team to watch.”

At the moment, Barrie has guaranteed spot in top-four Maple Leafs players. He could be paired on the left with Rielly or Muzzin Jake.

Barrie observed:

“I’ve played with Muzz before at the world championships. I loved playing with him and we did win that [year] but that’s up to the coaches and we’ll find out a bit more during training camp.”

We are looking forward to seeing interesting matches of two teams as well as direct meetings of two rivals. A lot of excitement is in front of us and players have to demonstrate their ambitions.
