Free Meals for Children 18 and Under During Summer Break

Summer BreakSpot Locations Throughout Palm Beach County

Boca Raton, FL – The Summer BreakSpot Program is sponsored by Palm Beach County Youth Services, Palm Beach County School District, FLIPANY and other sponsors in the community, in partnership with United Way of Palm Beach County’s Hunger Relief Plan.

+ What: Summer BreakSpots provide free, nutritious meals five times a week to children 18 and under while school is out for the summer. At most sites, any child 18 or younger can simply come during meal times to receive a meal. This year, Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County will be distributing free books at select meal sites to promote literacy over the summer.

+ Where: Dozens of Summer BreakSpots are located throughout Palm Beach County. Find a location near you by visiting SummerBreakSpot.org, calling 2-1-1, or texting “FoodFL” to 877-877.

+ When: Monday, June 3, 2019 – Friday, August 9, 2019

+ Why: In Palm Beach County1 in 5 children rely on free and reduced lunches at school for affordable, nutritious meals. When school is not in session, many children do not know where their next meal will come from. Summer BreakSpot is a federal food program sponsored at the local level by approved community entities to ensure that our community’s youth have access to free, nutritious meals during the summer.
