Taste of Recovery Returns!  Saturday, June 1

Third annual culinary festival features fantastic fare and fun – plus a Chance for Recovery

Get ready for a Taste of Recovery!  The third annual Taste of Recovery festival  takes place Saturday, June 1 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Old School Square Pavilion, 51 North Swinton Avenue, in Delray Beach.  This fun outdoor event featured unlimited samplings from an array of local restaurants, along with a variety of non alcohol drinks and live entertainment. This is by Dave Scott and the Reckless Shots, and more – all for a very low prices of only $40 in advance or $50 at the door – all to benefit The Crossroads Club.

  

   

Local Celebrity Chef Louie Bossi of Louie Bossi’s Ristorante, Bar & Pizzeria will once again host an impressive lineup of local restaurants, who will all be competing for the Best Bite – People’s Choice Award, as well as the Best Bite – Critics’ Choice Award.  This year’s participating restaurants include returning favorites Louie Bossi’s, City Oyster, Dada, Josie’s Ristorante, Rocco’s Tacos, Seasons 52, and Subculture Coffee; along with newcomers Bird in The Hand, Basil, Brulé Bistro, Driftwood, Elisabetta’s, Hai House, Michel’s Catering, Mike’s Chili, Proper Ice Cream, The Winemaker’s Table, and more!

   

   

Dave Scott and the Reckless Shots will again be cranking out the live entertainment. Attendees get to vote for their favorite “Best Bite” in the popular People’s Choice,” while a panel of select Judges will determine which Chef takes home the Critics’ Choice Award.  This year’s Judges include Mike Mayo (Sun Sentinel Dining Critic), Jan Norris (Florida Weekly food writer), and Robert Higginbotham, well-known local restaurant consultant.   New this year will be The Golden Table Raffle, an incredible chance to win a table of 10 with butler service and swag bags. Golden Table raffle tickets are available for $5 per chance.

                 

Proceeds of the event benefit The Crossroads Club in Delray, a non-profit organization that provides meeting space for 12-Step recovery groups at no cost “The addiction epidemic is one of the greatest tragedies facing our nation,” says Co-Founder Tony Allerton, “The Crossroads Club offers a solution to the cycle of addiction free of charge, and the Club has literally saved the lives of thousands of individuals and continues to do so each day.”  Chef Louie Bossi also duly notes, “Almost every family, including my own, has been impacted by addiction. This event is a tribute to all who have lost their lives and to those in recovery. The restaurant industry in particular has large numbers of employees in recovery.”
