Palm Health Foundation to Kick Off Thank a Nurse, Palm Beach County’s Biggest Celebration of the Profession

May 2019 campaign to honor and unite nurses

Boca Raton, FL – Nurses representing every kind of care from hospitals to skilled nursing facilities to home care are invited to take part in the sixth annual Thank a Nurse campaign designed to recognize their tireless efforts.  Thank a Nurse is generously sponsored by Tenet Health and VITAS Healthcare and coincides with National Nurses Week, May 6-12.  The 2019 national theme is “4 Million Reasons to Celebrate,” recognizing the number of nurses across the U.S.  Palm Health Foundation aspires to honor the county’s 18,000 nurses through the local campaign.

The Thank a Nurse campaign will include two events and a multi-media and social media campaign saluting Palm Beach County’s nurses.

Nurses Night Out
Date: Thursday, May 2, 2019, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Location: Delray Marketplace, 14851 Lyons Rd, Delray Beach, FL 33446
Registration: Free, no registration necessary
Nurses and nursing students are invited to celebrate National Nurses Week at a free “Nurses Night Out” event in collaboration with Hubbard Media.  The event will include on-air radio personalities, games, giveaways, music, food and raffle prizes.  In 2018, over 1,000 nurses attended.

Heart of Gold Reception
Date: Thursday, May 9, 2019, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Location:  Quail Ridge Country Club, 3715 Golf Road. Boynton Beach, Florida 33436

The sixth annual Heart of Gold Reception: A Celebration Honoring Palm Beach County’s Nurses will honor the extraordinary work of local nurses and recognize Palm Beach County’s 2019 “Nurses of the Year.” The event is open to all and will feature hors d’oeuvres, open bar, music and a photo booth.

Proceeds raised from the Thank a Nurse campaign will benefit nursing scholarships in PalmBeach County. Palm Health Foundation has granted nearly $3 million in nursing scholarships to more than 1,000 nursing students for advanced education to provide quality nursing care to PalmBeach County residents.

Palm Health Foundation is recognized by nursing leaders and educators for its dedication to growing and strengthening the nursing workforce in Palm Beach County since its inception in 2001.  In addition to nursing scholarships, the foundation has invested more than $10 million in initiatives to build a highly-skilled nursing workforce that provides care across all settings and supports optimal health in the community including care transitions and care coordination.
