Free swim lessons for Palm Beach County children!

Vouchers for free swim lessons available April 1  for Palm Beach County children

April 1 is “April Pools Day” — the beginning of swim season in Palm Beach County. With it, the Drowning Prevention Coalition of Palm Beach County will begin offering vouchers for free or reduced-cost swim lessons at 19 pools throughout the county. The vouchers are up to a $50 value and are good for six to eight swim lessons for children ages 2-12 whose families otherwise might not be able to afford the lessons.

The voucher application will be online starting April 1 at www.pbcgov.org/dpc. The vouchers are on a first-come, first-served basis and will be available until funds run out.

The Drowning Prevention Coalition of Palm Beach County (DPC) is providing swim lessons to more children than ever because of the financial commitment of Children’s Services Council. A total of 2,376 children received swim lessons last summer through the DPC, up from 2,055 in summer 2017. The number of children getting swim lessons via DPC has increased more than four-fold since Children’s Services Council began allocating money specifically for swim lessons in 2015.
