SUPER SUNDAY PHONE-A-THON

As always, hundreds of passionate volunteers will work side by side making thousands of calls to make a difference in the lives of so many – locally, in Israel and throughout the world. They’ll be ringing out from a lively, festive atmosphere in two shifts, from 9:30 am-12:00 pm and 5:00-6:30 pm.

Raffle prizes, breakfast, snacks and great camaraderie will make the day fun for the volunteers. Newcomers and seasoned callers are most welcome, and training is available. And with a $25,000 match from the Jacobson Jewish Community Foundation on all new or increased donations, volunteers can see the results of their efforts double!

JEWISH COMMUNITY IN ACTION AT HANDS-ON PROJECTS THROUGHOUT THE AREA

“Everyone is invited to make a difference at an array of hands-on Jewish Community in Action volunteer projects throughout the area from 12:30-4:30 pm. There is no cost to participate, and students will receive Community Service Hours, as individuals, as a family or with friends,” said Rabbi Josh Broide, Director of the Deborah and Larry D. Silver Center for Jewish Engagement of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County.

“Whether they’re interested in bagging or serving food, gardening, playing games with seniors, cleaning up the beach, or more, they’ll be surrounded by the inspiration and energy of joining their Jewish neighbors from all across the community to make a real difference.”

PJ LIBRARY® CHOCOLATE SEDER PRE-PASSOVER FAMILY EXPERIENCES

“Families are invited to join PJ Library® for a free Chocolate Seder and pre-Passover Experience everyone including newcomers will enjoy,” said Elana Ostroff, local PJ Library Director. There are two opportunities: 2:00-3:00 pm for families with children ages 3-8, and 3:30-4:30 pm for families with children ages 8-12. Siblings are welcome at either Please note that this event is not “nut free” and registration is required at www.jewishboca.org/oneday.

“We are thrilled to offer our Chocolate Seders on ONE DAY, among our many opportunities for young families to get together throughout the year,” added Ostroff. “Of course, families will also be able to sign up to receive free high quality Jewish books right at home every month; families with children ages six months through eight years can sign up at jewishboca.org/pjlibrary, and those with children ages nine through eleven can register at pjourway.org.”

“ONE DAY is not just a dream or a wish for the future…. With your support, it is today!” said ONE DAY Co-Chair Tracy Kawa. “This is the day to join with others to make an impact greater than any one of us alone can achieve. Participate with our Federation, right here in Boca Raton – and experience the tremendous impact we can have on those in need! Our collective effort will help young to elderly, from north to south and east to west.  If together we strive, then together we thrive! Let’s break records… together!”

By participating in ONE DAY, volunteers will also be joining millions of volunteers around the world for the 2019 Good Deeds Day on April 7. Now in its thirteenth year, Good Deeds Day has grown from 7,000 participants in Israel in 2007 to, in 2018, nearly 3.5 million volunteers in 100 countries taking part in 20,000 projects, and providing more than seven million hours of service.
