Boca Raton, FL – On Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 5pm, Music at St. Paul’s will present a service of Choral Evensong for All Saints’ Sunday. Featuring the Chancel Choir of St. Paul’s under the direction of Dr. Paul Cienniwa with guest organist David Morse and violist Laurice Buckton, repertoire will include Magnificat and Nunc dimittis in D Major (for St. Paul’s Cathedral, Buffalo) by Roland E. Martin; Requiem, SC 76 by Giacomo Puccini; Draw Us in the Spirit’s Tether by Jack Herman Ossewaarde; and organ voluntaries by Charles-Marie Widor and Siegfried Karg-Elert.
“Choral Evensong is a service of Evening Prayer in which nearly all of the service is sung by a choir,” says Director of Music Ministries Dr. Paul Cienniwa. “This type of service is common within the Anglican tradition, and you can find these services as tourist destinations in places like London and New York City. This is mainly because you can hear great choral music in beautiful settings without the trappings of a typical Sunday morning church service. We at St. Paul’s are very happy to bring Choral Evensong to Delray Beach!”
Choral Evensong is open to the public, and St. Paul’s is handicapped accessible. A freewill offering is encouraged to support the programming. For more information, visit music.stpaulsdelray.org.
