Boca Raton Historical Society & Museum’s 22nd annual Walk of Recognition – Nov 7

22nd Annual Ceremony & Reception takes place Wednesday, November 7 at The Addison

The Boca Raton Historical Society & Museum’s annual Walk of Recognition Induction Ceremony and Reception takes place Wednesday, November 7, 2018 (6-9 p.m) at The Addison in downtown Boca. The evening also includes a fantastic by-the-bite dinner and adult libations.

Now in its 22nd year, the Walk of Recognition award ceremony will recognize three outstanding honorees who have served the interest of our community and enriched the lives of Boca Raton: Dr. Dick Reed (long-time local educator and Key Club Scholarship Walk Founder);  Rita Thrasher (retired school teacher, Executive Director of Boca Raton’s Promise: the Alliance for Youth, and Founder and Chairman of the Palm Beach County Action Alliance for Mental Health); and the Boca Raton Museum of Art (established in 1950 as the Art Guild of Boca Raton).

      

As a new addition, this year’s winners and all of the past winners will receive a special Walk of Fame medallion Guest also get to feast upon unlimited samplings of a Mediterranean-themed by-the-bite dinner served at a variety of food stations, along with a full bar and refreshing libations including Champagne.

   

The Walk of Recognition event’s Presenting Sponsors are Marta and Jim Batmasian; the Committee Co-Chairs are Marta Batmasian and Joyce DeVita; and the Committee Members are Denise Alman and Ann Schauer.

BRHS&M Executive Director Mary Csar states, “The Walk of Recogntion is my favorite event because we honor the special individuals and institutions who have built our community. We are proud to recognize people from all walks of life, along with a wide range of institutions, who have made a positive impact on the quality of life in Boca Raton.”

Tickets are $75, including unlimited food and adult libations.  The event is free for all past inductees.

The Boca Raton Historical Society & Museum’s 22nd annual Walk of Recognition 22nd Annual Ceremony & Reception takes place Wednesday, November 7 at The Addison, located at 2 East Camino Real in downtown Boca Raton.

Instituted in 1997, the BRHSAM’s Walk of Recognition award has been presented to 91 deserving members of the community.  Each inductee’s name is also inscribed in a stunning black granite plaque, or on the Wall of Honor (for those who are deceased), which are both set into a commemorative monument featuring the mission of the program, beneath the Mizner statue in Royal Palm Place, in Boca Raton.
