Historic restoration to the Hillsboro Lighthouse Entrance revealed 9/8/18

The Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society has just completed a historic restoration of Lighthouse entrance.
On Saturday September 8th, 2018, Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society will be celebrating and revealing this Historic Entrance to the public.
Please Join use and help us make this a very special event. We will have a brief ceremony at 10.30 A.M. and the lighthouse will be open for visitation.  Refreshments and a Dedication cake will be served.
This event will be at a normal touring day at the lighthouse and we expect a large public turnout, along with the local Community Leaders and the local Media.  The US Coast Guard 7th District Officers will be participating along with HLPS Volunteer members.
 .
Guest will arrive by boat for a fun filled day at the lighthouse.

7 shuttle boats from Sands Dock

Sail times – 9:0010:0011:0012:001:002:003:00

Enjoy the cool ocean breezes blowing with crispness in the air. Come to 125 North Riverside Drive, Pompano Beach, FL on the North side of the Sands Harbor Resort and Marina. Parking is on the east side of the street in the City (pay) parking lot. Registration/check-in starts 30 minutes prior to the first sail time and remains open until the last boat returns.

The boat leaves the Sands dock to the lighthouse at each sail time. The boat leaves the Lighthouse dock to the Sands approximately 30 minutes later (for an approximate 1 hour round trip). We suggest an arrival at the respective dock 10-20 minutes before the departure time. Friendly members will register/check you in, provide you with a wrist band, and assist you with boarding for the boat ride to/from the lighthouse. A current HLPS membership or a $35 PP transportation fee is required.

  • Turn North on Riverside Drive.
  • The Sands Harbor Resort boat dock is 1 1/2 blocks North on the West side of the road.
