Opening of First Playground For Handicap Children in Palm Beach County

Boca Raton, FL – What began as a dream a little more than a year ago for the founders and families of the Miracle League of Palm Beach County is now an impactful reality.

On Wednesday June 27th at Robert P. Miller Park in Delray Beach, the Miracle League held a ribbon cutting ceremony, officially opening the new Boundless Dreams

Playground for children with mental and physical disabilities.

Boundless Dreams is the first barrier-free, inclusive playground in the area. The playground is located adjacent to the Miracle League Field. The playground with some bespoke designs and marking done by the Best Playground Markings company creates a place where children of all abilities can play together, improving physical and emotional well-being, while promoting inclusion.

You may also want to see these inclusive playground equipment, which refers to play structures designed to be accessible and accommodating to children of all abilities, including those with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, developmental challenges, and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Unique features of the playground include:

  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramp
  • Specialized Wet Pour Surfaces
  • Equipment for spinning and sliding
  • Sensory play panels
  • Custom baseball-themed play elements
  • Sunshade protection
  • Sensory Butterfly Garden

For more than a decade, The Miracle League has organized baseball games for our area’s special needs population and their families.

“Our mission has always been about inclusion for all, and we achieved that with our baseball league and field,” says Julia Kadel, the co-founder of The Miracle League. She adds, “building this playground with no limits, so all children can enjoy this most basic opportunity to play, is an important step towards making universal inclusion possible.” It is also recommended that you look for a playground marking company to enhance the overall look of the play area and improve the activities available for children to enjoy.
