Cheribundi Tart Cherry Announced as Title Sponsor for Boca Raton Bowl

By: Michael Demyan

ESPN has announced that Cheribundi Tart Cherry has been named as the official title sponsor for this year’s Boca Raton Bowl.

This is the fourth year of the annual bowl game at FAU Stadium, which will take place Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. Pre-game festivities for the game are set to begin when the teams arrive in Boca Raton on Dec. 15.

The Boca Raton Bowl has been without a sponsor since 2015. After going sponsorless during its first game in 2014, Marmot became the official sponsor the following year, however they did not return for the 2016 event.

“We are thrilled to welcome Cheribundi Tart Cherry as our new title sponsor and believe this is an ideal fit for the bowl game and the surrounding community,” Boca Raton Bowl executive director Doug Mosley said. “Cheribundi is perfectly geared to the active, healthy lifestyles of the Boca Raton and Palm Beach County communities. We look forward to working together to further develop the bowl game and provide a memorable experience for the student-athlete.”

Cheribundi will not only be the title sponsor for this year’s game, but have entered an agreement to sponsor the game two more times through 2019.

Thousands of athletes, along with hundreds of college and sports teams such as the New England Patriots, New York Yankees and Cleveland Cavaliers use Cheribundi for muscle recovery, stamina and improved sleep. The natural tart cherry juice beverage can be purchased at numerous stores across the country, as well as online through Amazon.

“Cheribundi Tart Cherry has been part of a training regimen for muscle rest and recovery to over 200 collegiate and professional sports teams for the past eight years,” Cheribundi CEO Steve Pear said. “Given Cheribundi’s deep history with athletes, the association with ESPN and sponsoring the newly named Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl is a natural fit.”

The game will be aired on national television via ESPN and will feature a matchup of a Conference USA team against an American Athletic Conference team. Announcements for team selections will happen this Sunday.

While the Florida Atlantic University Owls are eligible to be selected for the game, they are not expected to host an opposing AAC team.
