Town Center Gets in the Holiday Spirit with Events and Donations

By: Michael Demyan

With the holidays approaching, Town Center at Boca Raton is celebrating with multiple events, including traditional photos with Santa Claus.

Making it to the front of the line to see Santa Claus is typically a very time consuming wait, but now guests are able to skip it by scheduling an appointment for this year’s Simon Santa Photo Experience. Appointments can be made by going to simonsanta.com and Santa Claus will be making appearances at Town Center until Christmas Eve at 6 p.m.

“One of the great traditions of holiday shopping at Town Center at Boca Raton is the annual family visit to the Simon Santa Photo Experience,” director of mall marketing Sean Carroll said. “I know Santa can’t wait to greet children bringing him their holiday wishes.”

The experience is sponsored by Gymboree Group and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, which is celebrating the release of Despicable Me 3 by handing out activity sheets for the kids. Visitors will also have an opportunity to make a donation to Save the Children through The Cherry Hill Programs.

Children are not the only ones who will be able to have an opportunity to take a photo with the man in red. On Sunday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m., guests will be able to bring their pets.

The special event will take place after the mall closes so that shoppers will not be affected by the crowd of animals ready to see Santa. At the end of the night, the set will be cleaned thoroughly by the staff, making sure to remove allergens before more children arrive the next day.

Town Center at Boca Raton is also partnering with Boca Helping Hands for three community events.

The Thanksgiving Box Brigade is an ongoing initiative currently underway as the mall is collecting food donations from its stores. As an extra incentive, the store that gives the most donations get special parking spots during December.

The mall will also be collecting food, along with toys for its annual Holiday Food and Toy Drive through December 31. They will be looking to top last year’s total of 230 pounds of nonperishable food. Shoppers will be able to drop off their donations inside containers at Simon Guest Services and Cafes at Boca.

Those donations will be used during the Second Annual Christmas Day Feast for those in need at Town Center on Dec. 25 at 12 p.m. The festivities will include a decorated dining room, free photos with Santa and a Kid’s Zone as the mall ends the Christmas season with a gift to the community.
